Bournemouth and Poole Borough council joined forces to provide a better service for their local areas, partnering on new HR systems to improve candidate experience, deliver best value and focus on the journey that their candidates encounter when visiting their sites. the challenge

In 2006, the neighbouring authorities of Bournemouth and Poole began work on their £2 million+ ‘Employee First’ project. Whilst other local authorities have installed online recruitment systems with the primary objective of saving money, for both Bournemouth and Poole their over-riding aim was to achieve an online presence and only do things once. This is where they called upon giant recruit, as this system was about dramatically improving the applicants’ experience and bringing it into the 21st century. Its integration with the current Vision HR and Payroll system would ensure that data was only entered once, rather than two or three times, which had previously been the case.

At giant recruit, we’ve provided Bournemouth and Poole Borough Councils with an online recruitment solution which has allowed them to benefit from using one system to complete all recruitment responsibilities. Each council can now benefit from there very own, mobile enabled, branded jobs board. This therefore has allowed them to reduce time to hire with one uniformed process for all but maintain the flexibility for each authority to use the system in quite different ways to suit their own needs and ways of working.
